MeetingZone review
The first impressions of the MeetingZone website are favourable thanks to the combination of a bold black, red and white colour scheme and the ease with which you can navigate around the simple yet stylish home page.
Clear and concise headers make it easy to bypass the usual array of slogans and get straight on with setting up your conference calls, although there’s plenty of useful content on the main page, including three separate video clips with what appear to be three pretty happy customers. It’s always beneficial to hear how companies have benefited from using a service like the one offered by MeetingZone and thankfully it’s done in a way that’s not to over the top or in your face.
If you haven’t got the time to or simply don’t want to watch these videos, then soundbite quotes from other clients, such as ‘The MeetingZone approach was tremendously flexible’, are also there for you to peruse should you wish to. An interactive graphic highlighting the pros of using MeetingZone – bills are charged by the second rather than rounded up to the nearest minute, for example – adds an extra depth to a home page that also contains details of the company’s client portfolio, which includes Debenhams, Etihad Airways and Virgin.
Finding out about the MeetingZone’s conference call and web conferencing services is reasonably straightforward, with the information broken down into relevant sections that also contain additional interactive graphics, as well as a clear breakdown of what it is that you’re getting for your money in a bullet-point format. If time is of the essence and you need to get up and running straight away then fortunately there’s information in a red box on the far right-hand side of virtually every page.
Frustratingly, the pricing page doesn’t contain the cost as such of making conference calls. These are “individually set according to usage” you’re unhelpfully informed before being given a couple of phone numbers to dial for further information and a couple of email addresses. Other costs are laid out clearly enough for you to cast an eye over, including the fact you’ll be charged £10 per month for every paper bill generated.
An in-depth help section will help you to tackle those burning questions that crop up both before signing up and afterwards if you experience any teething problems. The ‘Q+A’ style is particularly informative and speeds up the process of resolving an issue.
Disappointingly, the quality of calls made through MeetingZone proved to be rather hit-and-miss, with lines occasionally crackly and unclear, and with a distracting delay on the line during international calls.#
