Conference Now Review

Conferencenow, which is part of the Meeting Zone Group, offers one main service whichcan then be upgraded if more features are required. Simplicity is the key to this website. Navigation is simple and the grey and orange colour scheme is easy on the eye. The conference call dial-in number is shown in bold at the top of every page along with the option to sign up for the service, making the site very user friendly.

One exceptional feature of the site is the introductory video which explains in a straightforward manner how to use the service and its features. If you’re like me and don’t like to read too much then this is perfect and something the competition should consider doing.

A visitor to the site is asked for an email address, and once given, the same old process applies; they are presented with a PIN and can start a voice conference with their participants. You can easily create emails to send to all your participants but the format is not the best; no spacing makes it very difficult to read. International dail-in numbers are provided but these are  limited to only 8 countries where some other services offer over 50. Calls cost 4.2p per minute (ex VAT) making this service the cheapest. For added features such as real time usage reports, billing information, conference recording, a range of freephone access numbers to access the service from overseas and a personalised branded welcome you’ll have to upgrade your account.

Customer service is good but the impression given was that not much was known about the upgrade option, however the staff are friendly and email queries are dealt with quickly. I was told I would receive an email explaining to me the key features and benefits and sure enough I did.

The main problem with Conferencenow  is that once you decide to upgrade you then receive an email from Meeting Zone which is slightly confusing. In the email you are informed that the cost per minute is 5p and on the Conferencenow website it clearly states 4.2p per minute which again is confusing. The service is charged for on a monthly basis and offers many features which can be found for free from other providers.
