Arkadin Review
The Arkadin website is informative, the information is relevant to audio conferencing, however there is nothing detailing how to actually use the service or what the prices are.
Signing up for a free 7 day trial is straight forward and no credit card is required. I received an e-mail immediately from them, which I had to validate by clicking a link. I then had to wait for another confirmation e-mail before I received my details. This only took a couple of minutes but the PIN did not work immediately and I had to actually wait almost 3 hours for the PIN to be active!
When looking for international numbers and costs a few pages I wanted to view did not load. There is a lot of information about different products, but no information on how to register for them, or what they cost, or what they actually offer. The website looks nice, but doesn’t give me enough “real” information.
Services offered are:
A teleconferencing solution for domestic and international calls
Online conferencing allowing desktop and application sharing without the need to download any software
Online events allowing webcast streaming and webinar broadcasts. They can manage a virtual event for you.
Customised solutions for global communication
Annoyingly, there are no costs listed on the website, so you have to wait for the e-mail confirmation to specify what you need so they can provide a quote based on exactly that. UK calls are 6p/min on a Toll Free number, international calls range from 8p – £1.15/min, UK calls are 5p/min on a Toll number, and from 6p – 11p/min for other Toll numbers. Recording is charged at 5p/min to record, and 5p/min for playback. They use WebEx for their web conferencing, and their “Anywhere” package costs 8p/min per participant.
Prices are pretty expensive compared to other conference companies. The web conferencing and recording costs seem very high, especially as a lot of companies offer that for free.
In regards to the calls themselves, you don’t know when the call has started. The call quality is ok, albeit a little tinny.
Customer Service is average. After registering for a 7 day free trial, I didn’t actually know what I had to pay afterwards to use the service. They visibly show a button to “request information” where you complete a form, and they also have a sales enquiries number, however there was no pro-active follow up on their part.
